Why Update Your Browser?

When you turn on your computer, what’s the first thing you open? For most of us, the first thing that’d come to mind is our web browser, as we spend the majority of our time here. Web browsers are undoubtedly the single most important applications on our computers. Whether casually browsing the web, doing banking, photo editing, designing, or writing, web browsers truly allow us to do it all. For this reason, it’s often the first frontier targeted by hackers, and just this year alone, Google has patched seven Zero-day exploits. In addition to keeping your browser more secure, updating your browser helps to prevent websites from simply not working. Browser updates often introduce new features, and as web developers update and make new websites, they may neglect to support older browsers. This could lead to websites partially or fully breaking until you update your browser.
